Find me on:

The JIRA 6.2 update, just released by Atlassian, provides a few powerful new features to make development for your team more transparent and productive than ever.

Visualize Development

Bringing together issues and source

Developers can now easily follow issues from creation to completion right from within JIRA. Create a branch, see commits and pull requests, and watch builds and deployments – all without ever leaving JIRA. Development has never been this visible for everyone on your team.

New: The Development Panel

jira 6.2 development panelWe're jazzed about this feature of the JIRA interface. The Development Panel is shown on every issue, helping you evaluate the development status of issues instantly. To dig deeper you simply need to click on any item to display more details, or drill down into the development tool.

Advanced integration of the code dvelopment tools with the Development Panel can provide the following:

  • Bitbucket or Stash: view and create branches, view and create pull requests, view commits
  • FishEye/Crucible: view commits, view branches, view and create reviews
  • Bamboo: view the status of builds and deployments
  • GitHub or GitHub Enterprise: view commits, branches and pull requests
