Connector Framework for JIRA updated

Posted by admin on July 26, 2012

We are pleased to announce the latest version of our popular Connector Framework for JIRA is now available for download on the Atlassian Marketplace. The Core Connector is the underlying framework that is used for many popular connectors for the Atlassian platform - including the Connector for Salesforce.com and JIRA as well as connectors for Zendesk, Get Satisfaction and uTest.

The framework works on both OnDemand and behind-the-firewall instances of JIRA and we can also build custom integration adapters on the same framework. Contact our team for more details.

The plugin, which interfaces CustomWare Core Connector with JIRA, allows users to map remote objects to JIRA issues as well as pushing and pulling of updates.

One customer found the plugin useful for integration of Salesforce into JIRA. Here's what he had to say:

In a large migration from Saleforce to JIRA, this plugin has proven invaluable. Being able to sync SF tickets to JIRA, and have JIRA users be able to update SF tickets without logging into SF is not just fantastically efficient, but it saves us the cost of per-user SF accounts. I highly recommend this plugin to anyone who's looking to integrate these two systems.

Beyond the clearing of a few minor bugs, users can look for some significant improvements with this release:

  • Make the 'create issue endpoints' respect the default value configurations for custom fields
  • Sort project list on create endpoint servlet
  • Support Tempo Account Custom Field for Mapping
  • Create a 'Pull Update' end point for remote object update from external
  • Associate endpoint updates JIRA Issues

If you run JIRA we hope you're as excited as we are about this update. Note that the availability of this release on the Atlassian OnDemand is scheduled with Atlassian, behind-the-firewall or self-hosted users can use these features immediately.
