Matt Doar is the Chief Toolsmith for ServiceRocket. He leads our consultants in Palo Alto who help customers with Atlassian tools all over the world. He’s the author of two O’Reilly books about JIRA (Practical JIRA Administration and Practical JIRA Plugins). He’s also reported more issues about JIRA than any other non-Atlassian.
Matt will be presenting on large scale JIRA administration on the third day of Summit 2013.
Here Matt shares his top three reasons Summit 2013 is a must-attend event.

1. The People
Atlassian’s of all stripes from the executives to hard-core developers and friendly product managers will be there.
You’ll meet people from all of Atlassian’s major customers, both the one’s you’ve heard Atlassian and other experts talk about, and also ones who’ll make you think “what do they do with Atlassian tools?”.
Summit is also where all the different Atlassian Experts gather and exchange ideas. If you want to discuss something complex and detailed about Atlassian tools in person, you’ll likely find the right person for it here.
2. The Products
If you and your boss want to know what’s going to happen with Atlassian’s products over the coming year, this is the best place to find out. Past years have seen the announcement of major releases of each product and this year is more than likely to do the same.
“Is that a feature or a bug?” Atlassian product managers are always looking for feedback on their products and there will be plenty of opportunity to do that at Summit.
Summit also offers live training classes for most of the products.
3. A Positive Vibe
Atlassian Summit is just plain fun, with great presentations, good food and even better attitude. It’s San Francisco in autumn. If you haven’t been before, this is going to be a good one!
