A must-have skill in software development is understanding agile methodologies and using tools that apply those methods. The problem is that there are many [Agile methods](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agile_software_development#Agile_methods) and [many tools](http://www.infoworld.com/slideshow/125232/developer-picks-7-hot-tools-agile-development-229327). Whichever methodology and tool you select, it is critical that you learn and use them well, if you want to excel as a software developer or leader of software development teams. Selecting an agile methodology depend on many factors, but if you choose Scrum or Kanban as a methodology, we recommend using JIRA Agile as the tool to implement Scrum and Kanban.
